Thanksgiving 2014

Life has gotten crazy the last few months with Derek and I both starting new positions.  When we moved to Baton Rouge, we started in similar roles to what we had in Singapore but in the last month have transitioned into new roles that have been keeping us quite busy.  Despite being three months late, I'm still going to blog about Thanksgiving.  I started this blog to document our lives and I'm not giving up on it!

Thanksgiving is definitely one of our favorite holidays and having missed it twice in Singapore, we were looking forward to being home.  We always got together with other American expats to have a traditional Thanksgiving meal but it just wasn't the same.

First stop of the trip was my parents house.  We spent the day enjoying fried and smoked turkey with all the trimmings and then burned all the calories off with a trip to the park.

Who gave this kid a turkey leg?
She knew exactly what to do with it

She loves her cousin Lauren!
Derek's brother was married back in October in Mexico and had a local reception the Friday after Thanksgiving in Atlanta.  We headed up there to enjoy the celebration.

They had the same wedding band we had so we knew it would be loud. The earmuffs
worked perfectly!
Every wedding my dad ends up with a sleeping baby on his lap.
The gorgeous cake my mother made for the wedding.
A little bathtime fun!
Despite visiting Atlanta numerous times over the last seven years, I had never been to the Georgia Aquarium.  Caroline loves to see fish so it was time for a trip.  We all had a great time!

One even came over to the glass to tell her "hello"
She loves the sea otters!
And turtles too!

It was a short trip, long drive, and good time!
