Memorial Day in Boston

One of my good friends from work, Allison, was getting married just outside of Boston over Memorial Day weekend so we decided to seize the opportunity for a fun long weekend trip.  Derek and I had not been to Boston since we got engaged there over six years ago and we were excited to return as a family of three.

For our one open day, we went on a food tour of the North End and enjoyed various Italian delights.  I was carrying Caroline who was sleeping in the Ergobaby the whole time so I did not get the chance to take many pictures during the food tour.  Here is my favorite one:

That evening we went to see the Boston Red Sox play at Fenway Park.  As it was way past bedtime, we were a little concerned about how Caroline would hold up but she enjoyed the game and even clapped at all the good plays.  Wally (the mascot) was celebrating his birthday so they had a special party going on in the kids zone that we checked out and got our picture with all the mascots who came to the party.

On the day of the wedding we only had the morning to run and do something we met up with our old nanny, Cat, and went to the aquarium.  Caroline absolutely loves aquariums so it is always so much fun to take her to them.  She "ooohs" and "ahhhs" and shrieks the whole way through.  She has also missed Ms. Cat since she moved back to Massachusetts so it was great for her to get to visit.

The aquarium had an enormous cylindrical tank in the middle and after winding our way up to the top, we were able to look down through all the levels of the tank for a better view.  This was our favorite part of this aquarium.

After the aquarium we drove out to Nahant which is a little island and marina outside of Boston.  The weather was perfect and Allison was gorgeous.  Again, I failed to take as many pictures as I should have but I at least got a few of us with our friends.

It was another great trip with friends and I certainly didn't take enough photos. Caroline is such a good traveler and I will be sharing more of our travelers and how we fly and drive with a happy baby.
