Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

There are several parks and nature reserves around Singapore to maintain some of the islands natural habitat.  Many people recommended we check it out so on Sunday we decided to go for a hike with our friend Garret who was in town for a business trip.  The Nature Reserve did not disappoint!  We saw wild monkeys, huge ants, awesome reservoirs, and even got to experience the rain forest rain.  The hike was much more challenging than we expected with lots of stairs and steep inclines.  It was a great workout for a Sunday afternoon and we can't wait to go explore the other Nature Reserves!

A look into the forest.  Love the curved tree
Giant Forest Ant.  I was glad to find out they aren't dangerous.
One of the many staired paths we went on
We made it to the Summit! What you can't see on the rock is that
it is an elevation of 163.63 meters (we started at 20 meters so
it was a nice hill for a small island), Latitude of N 1deg 21' 15.85"
and Longitude of E 103deg 46' 34.95"

some of the city while enjoying a surprisingly cool breeze.
And it begins to rain in the rain forest
An amazing twisted vine
